A specialist in gut and liver diseases, currently a staff member in the Department of Digestive Diseases in the Hospital Doctor Josep Trueta, the most important hospital in the Girona area, where she was appointed in 2000.

She obtained her MD from Lleida University in 1993 and became a specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 1998 at the University Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol (Barcelona). Her research focused on viral hepatitis treatment and resulted with a number of important clinical studies in the field.She is a major expert on the treatment of co-infected patients (HIV plus viral hepatitis).
She is a member of Catalan and Spanish Association of Digestive Diseases and the Spanish, European and American Liver Associations.
Her area of expertise encompasses gut diseases, in general, with special focus on liver diseases (hepatitis, fatty liver, gallstones…) and digestive endoscopy, performing some specific invasive endoscopic procedures as endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (for extraction of gallstones stuck into the billiary tract) and oesophageal and colonic placement of prostheses.
