Colonoscopy

Vision of all the large bowel and final centimetres of the small bowel. It is the main exploration for the assessment of polyps and the screening of colon cancer.

This exploratory technique is always performed with sedation under an anaesthesiologist’s supervision. Deep sedation differentiates from standard anesthesia because sedation doesn’t need oral intubation. Recovery comes immediately after the procedure and patients can be discharged from the clinic within minutes.
